Situated at only a 30 minute drive from the airport, 15 minutes from Willemstad and only a 10-minute walk from one of Curacao’s most popular beach destinations, Jan Thiel beach. Jan Thiel beach features a natural beach, an ocean pool, a dive school, a variety of restaurants, bars and shopping (including the famous Albert Heijn). This house is named “Las Palmas”, appropriate given the many palm trees in its garden and neighbourhood.

At the end of the safe one-way street (Kaya Zjazjimein), up on a hill, one drives up to the car park with remote controlled electric security gate in the beautiful and classic old Jan Thiel neighborhood, filled with palm trees. Upon entering the car park, one immediately senses strong security from the all round security wall, on the inside well covered with plants, flowers and palm trees.

Getting out of the car, one walks up the garden path with the garden at different levels on both sides. The house, classic Caribbean style, features with dark green woodwork fitting beautifully with the quint-essential Curacao yellow color on its structure. The many windows come with glass shutter side windows giving the option to enjoy the Curacao Caribbean breeze as an alternative to the full air-conditioned facilities. Given its location on a hill, daytime breeze cools the house enough to save electricity and on hot days without a breeze, one can easily switch to air-conditioning.

Entering the hall, one immediately catches the high ceiling with a classic antique Italian-French Chandelier (original certificate available upon request). To the right, three roomy bedrooms, one with its own bathroom and the other two sharing one bathroom with separate entry doors. To the left, towards the wide outdoor terrace, the living and dining room with view on the Spanish Waters and Table Mountain. Multiple sliding doors onto the terrace.

From the hall-way, one walks straight to the large kitchen fully equipped with a cooking island in the middle providing unobstructed views of the Spanish Waters and the Table Mountain. From the kitchen wide sliding doors onto the outdoor dining area (as part of the terrace) one enjoys the same views on the Spanish Waters and Table Mountain. Looking down from the right hand side of the Terrace one can see the garden with tennis wall and small basketball court. Looking down from the left hand side of the Terrace one can see the front garden with car park.

Back to the entrance hall-way, a curved wooden staircase brings one to the lower level of the house featuring a utility room on the left, a guest bedroom with own bathroom, built-in closet, own outdoor terrace and door to the front garden.

Moving on at the downstairs level, one enters the master bedroom with its own walk-in closet, bathroom and large outdoor terrace looking out on the back garden with tennis wall and small basketball court. Coming back out of the master bedroom, on the right, a hallway takes you to the entertainment room with its own sliding doors to the front garden. This room featured and is ideal for an in-house cinema and other types of entertainment like games, pool-table, etc. Next to this entertainment room is a separate entrance to the outdoor pool that is reached by walking up a few steps. The pool can also be reached from the upstairs outdoor terrace by walking down a few steps.


Upon the hill behind the main house, a detached small guest house forms part of the property. The small guest house can be used for a live-in maid or more guests and has its own entrance.

The spacious size of the plot, the elevated location at the end of a one-way street and the greenery provide an oasis of peace and plenty of privacy and security. The view is simply the best of all of Curacao and it is very close to one of Curacao’s best beaches and entertainment areas. The outdoor terrace and pool provide enjoyment for the family but is also perfectly suited for large group parties. The garden with tennis wall and small basketball court are ideal for kids. The style and colors of the house are traditional Curacao and its indoors provides the luxury of a modern house.
