New Direct Flight Connects Chicago with Curaçao

From Lake Michigan to the Caribbean Sea: Chicago Now Flies Nonstop to Curaçao

Starting December 2025, American Airlines will offer a direct flight between Chicago and Curaçao. A new connection between a global metropolis with a rich blues legacy and a Caribbean island where that same music thrives — just a little warmer, more sultry, and with a palm tree backdrop.

Blues in the Tropics
Every April, the Pietermaai district transforms into an open-air stage during the Curaçao BlueSeas Festival. Live blues in the streets, sizzling guitars by the sea, and an atmosphere that would make Jake & Elwood Blues jealous.

Sunglasses on, cocktail in hand — this is the tropical remix of their roots. For music lovers from Chicago and beyond, it’s the ultimate escape: straight to an island where the blues grooves to the rhythm of the sea.

And who knows... maybe a new chapter in music history will be written among the pastel façades and Caribbean breeze.

Curaçao Goes Chicago
Of course, it works the other way around too. Thanks to this new route, residents of Curaçao can now fly to Chicago more easily than ever. Just like they already could to other American cities such as New York, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Charlotte, and Atlanta — with airlines like American Airlines and Delta.

Whether you’re planning a city break, a business trip, visiting family, or embarking on a musical journey — the world is at your feet from Curaçao.

Discover Chicago: The Windy City

  • Navy Pier: A lively waterfront with attractions, shops, restaurants, and the famous Ferris wheel offering breathtaking views of the city and lake.
  • Willis Tower Skydeck: Climb one of the tallest buildings in the U.S. and dare to stand on The Ledge — a glass balcony jutting out from the 103rd floor.
  • The Magnificent Mile: A shopper’s paradise filled with luxury boutiques, department stores, and endless dining options.
  • Chicago Riverwalk: A scenic promenade along the Chicago River, perfect for walking, cycling, or an architecture boat cruise.
